During our three years living in northern California, I fell in love with Point Reyes National Seashore. Because of restrictions regarding dogs on trails and most beaches, Byron’s visits to this park were limited. We dedicated one particular visit to doggy-related activities, including an exploration of Kehoe Beach, during which Byron collected this fine piece of driftwood. My husband snapped some great photos of him, capturing the glistening sand on his face and his big wet lips. For Byron, it doesn’t get any better than this!

“Driftwood” was selected for exhibition at the Gallery at the Airport in Eugene, Oregon, and was on display there March 23 through July 8, 2007.
